My parents are getting up there in age.  My step father, 72 diabetic and also suffers from arthritis.  There are days when his feet hurt so much he can hardly walk.  My mom is a bit younger (she would be highly upset if I was to discuss her age and she has had pneumonia several times.  It destroyed her lungs.  She is on a lot of medication because  her lungs runs of out air very easy.   It wont be long before they won’t be able to take care of themselves without help.  The house they own is huge and requires a lot of maintenance.  The yard  work is already getting to be more than my step father can handle.

I know that my parents will be fine.  My youngest sister is planning on moving to FL within the next year, and building a home big enough so my parents can live with her and her family.  My sister is a Registered Nurse, so they will be in good hands.  The fact that they are very close,  and always have been is also a plus.

Not everyone is that lucky.  Some people grow old and have no family left.   Also a lot of senior citizens don’t want to live with their families, for many different reasons.  They would prefer to move to a Retirement home.   I myself would rather live in a retirement home. There is no way I want any of my children being responsible for me or taking care of me.  There is no doubt in my mind that they would torture me and drive me insane.  Heck, I’m not ready for retirement and they are already doing that.

If I lived in Arizona, and who knows, maybe by the time I am ready for a retirement home, I will live in Arizona..one doesn’t know what the future will bring.  But, if I do live in Arizona I would pick an arizona retirement home like Colten Adult Care. I would want a place that has around the clock 24 hour care, if I should need it. I also would want a place that would allow me to bring my own furniture and even my pet.

I have always heard the weather in Arizona is kinda nice, so adult care arizona might be a nice place to retire to. Right now I am thinking, the further away from my family, might be the best for me. Of course I only feel that way today because they are driving me right up the wall.
