Lil Guy is Sick

Blogging Talk To Me

It’s 3 am.  I heard the baby cough, then cry.  Mothers out there know that cry.  The one that makes you run..fast.  I went into his room, and immediately picked him up.  He then started choking, which about stopped my heart I got so afraid.  Then he threw up all over me.  Then he really started to cry,  and he couldn’t catch his breath.  I was one scared mom for about 5 minutes.    I got him to calm down, by holding him close and singing tohim.  Once he was calm I got us both changed.  I bundled him up in his warmest pj,s and I got out of my vomit covered clothes.   I sat and held him and soothed him until his breathing returned to normal, but I can hear a rasp in his chest, and his nose is stuffed up.

I just went and woke his daddy up and laid the baby next to him.  The little guy is going to have to sleep in our bed tonight because I am too scared to leave him in his own room.   If this happens again,  I think daddy is going to have to take him to the ER.   I don’t get too shook up about kids getting colds.  Been there, done that, I’ve pretty much been thru it all.  This shook me up.   It’s going to be a long long night.  Thank goodness we went thru all health insurance and the life insurance leads just last month, and both kids have very good heath coverage. Can’t say the same for my husband and I. Ours suck thru his work. We pay for a separate private policy for the kids. It’s in times like this, that I’m glad we did.   I’m gonna try to get some sleep.  I doubt if that is going to happen.

That is scary! I would be a mess. (Which is why I opted out of having kids, I’m a worrier by nature.) Hang in there and I really hope that was the end of it. No ER visit!

Hope the little guy feels better soon. It’s awful to hear those sounds in the middle of the night. Nothing wakes a mom faster. Sounds like a day of snuggling together is just what the two of you need. Hopefully you can both catch up on your missed sleep.

I know the fear that you must have experienced when your child experienced his distressed breathing. I hope that your son is feeling better and that you and your husband have recovered from the stress. Think about health and life insurance coverage for both you and your spouse. If something happened to either one of you, it would challenge your ability to provide the current level of care your child enjoys from his current coverage. Take care. ;0)

It is no fun to be sick. A child needs
a lot of rest and healthy food especially
    when he is sick.

I hope you little guy feels better. I don’t like when they are that little and throw up. My daughter scares me when she throws up being so little. It can be very scary.

I so know that cry….scariest sound in the world. Last month we had a similar thing, but followed by an ER visit, steroid shots & a breathing treatment…I did not know that you can get whooping cough for the first time as old as 4. He now refers to it as his “barky cough”. Kids, they bounce back so well :)
Hope your little one get over it quickly.
