As with Dorothy, I suggest you take some time to really think through everything and not think of the insurance company as your enemy. Their policies, unfortunately, are extremely complicated and meant to confuse, but I suggest you get an agent on your side you'll find that they will try their best to work with you. If they are going to fully reimburse you for rebuilding- then you should definitely go ahead and take out a loan to rebuild. You'll be easily granted the loan since it is backed by the insurance agency and it costs you nothing to rebuild in the end if you think about it. Don't discount rebuilding. You should also use the power you have as blogger and name and shame the one that is being so heartless....they are always so quick to take your money and demanding dues, but when it is your turn to demand your dues.... Bugsy…in regards to your itemized list…go get a catalog..eg…Sears, Macey’s, ect. Just take prices from there. I have been through this and they do not care what price you put down as long as if they do question you…the price can be found in a store.
Also take your time girl…they want you to list as little as possible.
Also remember this….they will try and save as much money from you as possible…so do not worry about adding a few extras because you will never remember everything.
I had people help me with this when I needed it most and I am so glad for it as I would have lost so much money had I rushed and tried to be 100% honest.

It is very frustrating at best…but take a few breathes and relax. Take it slow.

The insurance company already has a ceiling price to use for your case so just put as much as you can.

Hi sweetie! I really am just blown away by this post! I am so sorry for you and so sad. I just cant believe this!!! Wish you could publish the name of this CRAP insurance company, but I guess in the end they are all the same. And I guess one has to read the fine print–you know the print that is way too small to read, yet alone understand! I wonder how in all good conscience a person could actually sell insurance, knowing that they are basically lying through their teeth? This misrepresentation is just a crime. I dont know what to say to make you feel better…I am trying to find a silver lining in all this for you but I just cant find anything comforting. I’m here to chat if you need me. I love you bunches…plz take care of yourself Bug!

It really stinks what they are doing to you Bug. Their actions are criminal in my book. If they wanted all that stuff they should have gotten lists of it from you when they sold you the policy. Makes me so angry for you guys. I am so sorry for all the heartache you are going through right now.
