So enough of that! We have been so busy the past week. We got an estimate that we liked to get the front walk way to our home enclosed in and have a security screen door installed in the archway. So, that work will be done in the next 2 weeks.
It’s something that has to be done for child safety. Now, nobody will be able to knock on my front door. Mini Bug will not be able to just open the door and get out either. Which is a very good possibility because she is very tall for 3 years old and can open every door in the house. Not only that, but she can also unlock the deadbolts, with just a turn. She is making me gray fast. We are also going to have hidden security camera’s installed outside so that I can see who is ringing the doorbell before I go outside. I know this probably sounds a little dramatic but as far as child safety goes enough is never enough as far as I am concerned. Child safety in the home is one of our major priories. We have always had a security camera in her bedroom with sound that we can watch and hear right from my monitor. We leave it on all night so we can hear everything that goes on in her room.
Now with Mighty Bug getting bigger and being able to walk, we need some intense baby proofing of our home. We need more baby gates and a child safety gates as well as child safety locks to keep him out of areas he should be in. We also need new child safety cabinet locks for both MIni and Mighty bugs safety.
Some things I have to order online. I know we got a special door knob lock at walmart, hoping it would keep Mini Bug from being able to turn the door knob and open the door. Guess what, she figured it out. She quickly learned that all you had to do was squeeze it real hard and she could turn the door knob. She is just too smart for her own good. So we looked around online and found a KidCo Door Knob Lock at kidsafeinc.com that looks a little bit better than what we have. I was also eying up some child safety latches.
Enclosing in our outside entry way, and putting the security screen door in will help me breath a bit easier. At least I won’t have to worry about turning my back and her opening the door and being half way down the road before I even know it. I promise before and after pictures when it’s done.
