Do Something Nice Today

Blogging, Compassion Talk To Me

You all have a grandpap right? Well, I like to read Doug’s blog Retired and Restless. He just seems like such a sweet grandpa type of guy.  His posts are full of words of wisdom and his daily life, his grandchildren, with some humor thrown in.
Well today when I clicked on his site to drop on his EC I read his post.  This is what he had to say:

“I was just eating a peanut butter and jelly sandwich when I felt my front tooth “give way.”  I carefully pushed everything out onto a paper towel and examined the mess for the pieces.  How can this happen?  Why? Dentists offer little comfort except to say that “it can happen any time.”

Well, the last time this happened I was eating Frozen Jelly Bellies up at a ski mountain, and there was an easy explanation for that break…and it was twelve years ago…a back tooth, but these kind of “accidents” are really expensive, and since I retired I have no dental insurance. OUchy!”

Ok, well, he has a donation button up to try to help get his front tooth fixed…he’s embarrassed about it…but why don’t you go over there and make a donation..even a dollar.  I did, because I believe what comes around goes around.  I also believe that when you do something nice for someone, your life gets just a tad bit better.

I don’t know Doug, and until today have never left a comment on his blog, today was the first time he heard from me.  I hope I put a smile on his soul, and I hope you can too.  It really sucks to age, and every single one of us has a clock ticking.  I hope when I am his age, society will still care about me.
